Spicy Vegetable


  • 2 heirloom tomatoes
  • 1 persian cucumber
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1/2 lime - juiced
  • 1/2 jalapeño - seeded
  • 4 sprigs cilantro
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Here is the smoothie version of tomato juice (hold the sodium). Heirloom tomatoes are in season in the Northeast and we are capitalizing on this. They are exploding with flavor (and nutrients). We added an extra kick to this smoothie by including ½ a jalapeño pepper. Be sure to remove the seeds before tossing this in your blender. The seeds will make it very, very spicy.
