Spiced Apple Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz baby spinach
  • 1 apple - chopped
  • 1 pear - chopped
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp flax seed
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup ice

This low calorie smoothie is like fall in a cup, thanks to a combination of high-fiber fall fruits (apple and pear), along with anti-inflammatory cinnamon. A mild green that is routinely tasteless in smoothies, spinach is full of iron, vitamin K, and even more fiber. Add in some flax seed for a third big dose of fiber, as well as healthy Omega-3 fatty acids, and you have a light but satisfying breakfast.
