Pina Banana Smoothie Recipe


  • 1 1/2 oz collard greens
  • 1 banana - peeled
  • 4 oz pineapple
  • 2 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 1 tsp lucuma
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup ice

If the weather has you pining for a beach vacation, this smoothie may help take you to a tropical paradise (at least when you close your eyes). Pineapple, banana and shredded coconut bring typical island flavors (as well as potassium, magnesium, vitamin C and healthy fats), while lucuma helps to sweeten everything up without adding additional sugar. Mild collard greens round everything out with a a serving of vitamins K and A, making this smoothie a healthy version of everyone’s favorite tropical drink, the pina colada.
