Morning Maca

Ingredients

  • 1 banana - peeled
  • 1 pear - chopped
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 tsp maca powder
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup ice

Related to turnips and radishes, maca root has been studied for its ability to not only increase energy and stamina, but also possibly help regulate hormones. Cacao powder (which is chocolate in its rawest form), has been shown to help amp up serotonin and endorphins, and contains fiber, iron and lots of antioxidants. Low in calories, fat, and sugar, this smoothie will have you feeling bright and bushy-tailed all day long.
