Mango Picante


  • 1.5 oz spinach
  • 1 cup mango - peeled, chopped
  • 1 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 1 lime - juiced
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 2 ice cubes

This smoothie was inspired by the fruit sellers in Latin America. If you buy a freshly cut mango from a local woman on the corner, it’s not uncommon to get a dash of hot sauce and a squeeze of lime. The flavors combine to make a surprisingly delightful combination of citrus and heat. When you’re blending this one up, close your eyes and think of the ocean.
