  • 1.5 oz carrot greens
  • 1 cup carrots - chopped
  • 1 apple - cored, chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger - peeled
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

This root-to-stem smoothie doesn’t let any part of the carrot go to waste. That means more nutrients for you. When thinking of leafy greens, you might never guess that carrot greens fall into this category, but they do! These bitter greens have a light grassy taste with a hint of sweetness.

Here’s a pro tip: When buying carrots with the greens still attached, make sure you cut them off to make the carrots last longer.
