- 1.5 oz kale
- 2 bananas
- 2 tbsp shredded coconut
- 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
- 2 tbsp raw almonds
- 1 cup vanilla almond milk
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
We love healthy smoothies disguised as desserts. The Almond Joys Smoothie pays tribute to the classic candy bar and will leave any sweet tooth satisfied. We left out all the corn syrup and artificial flavoring and added in a whole lot of nutrients. While bananas have a reputation for being rich in potassium, dark leafy greens — such as kale are also a great potassium source. Potassium has no small job, it literally enables your heart to beat, helps in muscle and nerve function and aids in filtering blood in the kidneys. Potassium does all this and we haven’t even had our morning coffee yet. We raise our mason jars to you, potassium!
If you’re feeling adventurous, toast some of the coconut flakes and sprinkle them on top.
