What is GreenBlender?

GreenBlender is a smoothie delivery service. Each week, we send our members original smoothie recipes and pre-portioned ingredients to make smoothies at home. We focus on sourcing the highest quality ingredients, and work with organic farms, urban and local farms, green markets, and vendors who value sustainable practices whenever possible. We believe that small, healthy changes can make a huge difference. We empower you to do just that by making it dead simple to start your day with a healthy decision.

What's the difference between smoothies and juices?

A smoothie is a beverage that is blended (with a blender) from whole pieces of fruit, vegetables, and other ingredients. The outcome is a nutrient rich, thick and filling shake. Juicing, on the other hand, involves a liquid extractor (juicer) that separates the juice and the pulp into different compartments. Juice is a thin and liquidy drink, that is also nutrient packed, but more hydrating than filling. One of the main advantages to blending, over juicing, is that blending maintains all parts of your ingredients, including fiber, which is essential for digestion.

What equipment do I need at home?

All you'll need is a blender and some water. We'll take care of the rest. We'll send you 5 smoothie recipes and all the ingredients you'll need to make them each week. Some recipes might require you to have a knife or a vegetable peeler. But rest assured, we'll pre-portion your ingredients, so you don't have to measure a thing. It's easier than pie.

Are your ingredients organic?

Yes, all of our ingredients are organic and non-GMO. In the rare event where we are unable to source an organic ingredient we may include a conventional, or minimally treated substitute. All substitutions are clearly marked on your box's weekly menu.

Where do source your ingredients?

We source the highest quality ingredients for our smoothies. We partner with farmers, green markets, and purveyors to ensure our produce is organic, local and seasonal whenever possible. Our recipes will often include unique ingredients, whose flavor and nutritional profiles might surprise you (in a good way). In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, our smoothies include hard to find superfoods and add-ins like chia seeds, flaxseed, goji berries, acai berries, maca, matcha, cacao nibs, hemp protein, and much more. Farms we've sourced from include Brooklyn Grange, Gotham Greens, Lancaster Farms, just to name a few. Feel free to check out all of our past recipes.

Is GreenBlender vegan?

Yes, all GreenBlender recipes vegan!

How long do the ingredients last?

Our ingredients are meant to last for the week in which they are delivered. We even have storage suggestions to help you keep your ingredients fresh for as long as possible.

How many calories are in your smoothies?

We actually don't think too much about calories, and we don't think you should either. Counting calories is an easy, and mostly effective, way to keep track of your food intake. But, it doesn't really provide the best way to understand the complex effects that food has on our bodies. Instead, we like to focus on putting whole foods with high nutritional value in our smoothies. In the mean time, there are a lot of resources online that can provide the caloric and nutritional information for you. Calorie Count has one that is very easy to use. And, you can find most of our recipes in our our recipe page. Generally, our smoothies have between 100-300 calories per serving.

I'm allergic to [insert allergy here]. Can I still order your smoothies?

Our ingredients are all portioned, assembled, and packaged in the same facility. So, if you have a serious allergy we do not recommend you order.

I have an intolerance, or dislike for [insert ingredient here]. Can you accommodate a substitution?

In order to provide our members with a unique menu each and every week, we cannot support substitutions at the moment. However, our ingredients are all individually packaged. Once you receive your delivery, it's very easy to skip a specific ingredient. If you choose to omit an ingredient from a recipe, we recommend that you keep some of your own substitute ingredients on hand.

What do I do if my box is missing/has a damaged ingredient?

Please contact support@greenblender.com and we will make things right. If your ingredient is damaged, please include a photo to help us fully understand the issue.

Is there a minimum subscription?

Nope.

What if I want to take a week off?

We all need a break from time to time, whether you're going on vacation, or just have a hectic (or lazy) week coming up. You can pause your subscription at any time by managing your schedule in your account settings. Since we plan each delivery in advance, we ask that you let us know by the corresponding pause/cancellation deadline of your delivery day.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time by emailing support@greenblender.com. Since we plan each delivery in advance, we ask that you let us know by the corresponding pause/cancellation deadline of your delivery day.

For example, if your delivery is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, please request to cancel before 11pm on the Saturday before your delivery. Please note that you may still have a delivery scheduled if you request a cancellation after your weekly cancellation deadline.

When am I charged for deliveries?

You will be charged for your first Green Blender order immediately at checkout. All subsequent charges will take place after your billing cycle has ended, and shortly after the pause/cancellation deadline associated with your delivery day. You will not be charged if you have paused your subscription for an upcoming delivery before the deadline. Each plan automatically renews after its billing cycle has ended. Details for specific plans are below.

Fresh Start Plan
You will be charged for your first Green Blender box immediately at checkout. Your subscription will renew after each delivery, and you will be charged 5 days before an upcoming delivery.

Monthly Challenge Plan
You will be charged for 4 boxes immediately at checkout. Your subscription will renew after 4 boxes have been delivered, and you will be charged 5 days before your next delivery. Each renewal charge is for 4 boxes.

Healthy Habit Plan
You will be charged for 12 boxes immediately at checkout. Your subscription will renew after 12 boxes have been delivered, and you will be charged 5 days before your next delivery. Each renewal charge is for 12 boxes.

How can I update my shipping address?

You can contact us at support@greenblender.com or give us a call at 917-310-5577 and let us know the new address you would like to have you GreenBlender deliveries sent to.

Please make sure any address updates are made by the corresponding pause/cancellation deadline for your delivery day.

Why is my account not active?

Your account may not be active if you have not fully completed the checkout process, or if you have chosen to cancel an existing membership. Once you have successfully completed the checkout process you will receive a confirmation email and you will be able to log into your Green Blender account. If you'd like to reactivate a previously canceled membership, or if you continue to have issues logging in please contact support@greenblender.com for further assistance.

How do I send GreenBlender as a gift?

Here's how you can gift GreenBlender to someone within our delivery zone.

  1. Begin your checkout at greenblender.com/join
  2. Use your own email to get the receipt and confirmation emails.
  3. Fill out the gift recipient's Name, Zipcode, and Shipping Information.
  4. Use your own Billing Information.

Once the order goes through, email us at support@greenblender.com (or just reply back to the confirmation email) to let us know it will be a gift, and for how many week's you'd like to gift the subscription. We'll be sure to cancel the subscription once your gifting period has elapsed.

We currently ship to most parts of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington DC, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

You can check if your zipcode is within our delivery area by completing the form on our join page to get started. If you are outside our current delivery zone, don't worry! We're quickly expanding, and your area could be next. In the meantime, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter so you can be the first to know

Do I have to be home to accept my delivery?

Nope! If you're in the NYC area, we delivery via courier. Most often, you won't have to be home. We'll do our best to successfully deliver your smoothie box to you each week. If you're not home, and we can't leave it with your doorman, your neighbor, or in a safe place at your address, we'll contact you to coordinate. If you're outside NYC, our delivery partners will leave it at your door, no signature required.

Smoothies

My smoothies are too chunky or thick. How can I fix this?

We test each and every recipe to ensure great flavor and consistency. That said, every blender is unique, and you might find that your smoothies are thicker than you'd like. There are a few tricks to help get that "smooth" texture. First, try blending for longer. Don't be afraid to let your blender run for 1 to 2 full minutes. Your blender's blades need time to liquefy your smoothie's contents. Next, try adding some more water. More liquid will allow your ingredients to circulate through the blades more easily. Lastly, you could upgrade your blender. We've recommended a few of our favorites below.

Which is the best blender to use for smoothies?

Any blender can make a great smoothie, but every blender works a bit differently depending on blades, power, and settings. Here are some of our favorite blenders:
